Composting Update

Starting in March, our Kindergarten and 1st grade students will be expanding their composting efforts to include their lunch trays, in addition to food waste. This will make a big difference in reducing the amount of waste going to landfills from our cafeteria.

Lunchtime Volunteers Needed!

We are continuing to recruit volunteers to help with our composting pilot at the Annex. Please visit the signup page to volunteer for slots through March.

Our next Green Team meeting will be on Friday, February 28, at 8:15 a.m. in the Big School cafeteria. We will be discussing composting, gardening plans and other activities for the spring. RSVP to greenteamsms@gmail.com or just show up!

Please note that this is not a drop-off event; all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Wear your PJs and bring your water bottle! The PTA will provide light snacks, but feel free to bring your own.

The event is FREE, but please sign up by February 24 if you plan to attend.

Save the date for SMS's marquee fundraiser: Casino Night! This biennial adults-only event includes food, drinks, casino games, live and silent auctions, and raffle prizes—a fantastic way to have fun while supporting our school!
