Basketball Fundraiser for South Mountain Parents

Come play basketball and support our school!

Join us for pickup basketball every Monday night from 7:30–10 p.m. at the South Mountain Big School gym! This fundraiser supports the Physical Education program.

Who: South Mountain parents who enjoy basketball
What: Pickup basketball games (4v4, winner stays)
When: Mondays, 7:30–10 p.m. during the school year
Where: South Mountain Big School gym
Cost: $125 (payable to South Mountain PTA by check)
Why: Fun, exercise, and supporting PE programs

South Orange Maplewood Spring Baseball Registration

Registration is now open for South-Orange Maplewood Spring Recreation Baseball. The program welcomes all children ages 5 through 15 (as of April 30, 2025), living in South Orange and Maplewood. No prior experience is needed!

During the registration process, parents can also sign up to be a volunteer coach, and teens 13+ can sign up to be umpires. Training and support will be provided!

The Green Team Needs Volunteers!

Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students are back to school and back to composting! As we settle back into the routine of the new year, we are going to continue having volunteers assist with food scrap sorting at lunchtime through January.

Please sign up here for a 1-hour slot and help us make sure this pilot is a success!

We appreciate the commitment and enthusiasm of the Annex staff and parent volunteers who have brought this idea to reality. We've already diverted 160lbs of food waste in our first 2 weeks alone!

We are also still searching for the best weekend to build garden beds at the Annex and the Big School.

Please fill out this interest form if you would be available on a Saturday or Sunday in the spring to help.
