In light of the current climate and heightened concerns in communities nationwide—including anxiety related to outside enforcement activity—we are taking this opportunity to reaffirm our guidelines on visiting schools. These measures are in place for one clear reason: to protect our students, families, and staff and to maintain calm, secure learning environments.
What This Means for School Visits
During the school day, the following procedures are in effect at all district schools:
● All visitors must enter and exit through the main entrance.
● Visits are by appointment only, except in verified emergency situations.
● Visitors must present valid photo identification, sign in at the main office, and wear a visitor badge at all times.
● Visitors are not permitted unescorted access and must remain in approved areas or be accompanied by school staff.
● School administrators have the authority to approve, limit, or deny access when necessary to ensure safety.
● Visitors will be buzzed into the building after they have been approved.
If you are dropping off forgotten items, i.e., lunches, water bottles, watches, phones, musical instruments, etc., please make sure all items are securely bagged and labeled. You will be asked to leave any item in the large bin outside the main office at the Big School and in the vestibule at the Annex.
Families planning to visit a school are encouraged to call the main office in advance and share the visitor’s name, the student’s name, the reason for the visit, and the expected time of arrival. This helps minimize disruption and supports school safety protocols.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mr. Kevin Mason, Principal
